How our journey began
Dream it.
Adventure Circus was set up in January 2015 by founder, Gemma Simpson, and is an award winning circus and fitness club for people who like to do things a little differently. Gemma has a background in dance, gymnastics and equestrian vaulting (google it!) and is generally sport mad. She was also a contestant on ITV's Ninja Warrior!
Build it.
Gemma joined Glasgow's circus school Spinal Chord in 2012 and in 2015 decided to bring a bit of circus magic to Perth! Classes began in April 2015.
Later in the same year, as the school grew in popularity, Gemma teamed up with friend Stephen Armour to further develop Adventure Circus.
Adventure Circus began teaching from Perth Gymnastic Club, but we grew so popular that in 2016 we moved to a shared space in North Muirton which is now dedicated to circus, cheerleading and fitness. In 2020 Stephen moved on from Adventure Circus and now teaches in Manchester. In 2021 we achieved charitable status.
Adventure Circus has a fantastic team of local circus instructors and regularly welcome additional guest instructors to lead classes in Perth.
Our mission is to provide v-a-r-i-e-t-y (to be vocational, active, recreational, inspiring, entertaining, technical and for you) and our values are that we are happy, adventurous, inclusive, rewarding and young at heart!
