Here are some of our FAQs

  • Our classes are priced in line with other circus schools across Scotland. This is so that we can pay our staff for their expertise and cover our overheads such as our facility costs, insurance, equipment purchases etc.

However, as we are a charity, we are able to apply for funding so that we can offer additional classes that we can include in the price of a block of 6 adult classes.

We have three classes on offer.

1.Friday evening flexibility class. Spring/Summer at Adventure Circus. Autumn/winter at Riverside Church. Class time 7pm - 8pm.

This class follows the Alixa Flexibility method to lengthen and strengthen your muscles.

2.Sunday evening circus fitness. This class is at Adventure Circus. Class time 6pm - 7pm.

This class uses our aerial apparatus and body weight exercises to help you to get extra strong for taking part in aerial classes.

3.Sunday evening yoga for holistic health. Spring/Summer at Adventure Circus. Autumn/winter at North Muirton Community Centre. Class time 7pm - 8pm.

If you can make all of the classes, this equals incredible value for money! We do our best to apply for funding to make these classes included at no extra cost. We have funding for this until at least March 2023.

If cost is still a barrier, please get in touch.

  • The best way to get strong for aerial, is to do aerial!

We can lower equipment, add in mats, give you a step up or a helping hand.

It’s generally easier to start on a bar apparatus such as trapeze or hoop or hammock (aka sling) as you can sit on it to rest.

Everyone has to start somewhere and our experienced instructor team know show to help you get the most out of your classes!

  • The best option is to give us a call / send us a message to chat through your concerns. You might want to start with a low impact class like our yoga and/or flexibility classes, or our prop club (juggle / poi spinning).

  • Nope! All of our rigging and aerial equipment at Adventure Circus has a high working load limit. We could safely hang cars from this equipment – you’ll be just fine!

  • Great to hear! Most of our classes are mixed ability (improver/intermediate + level) but not all classes will have space in them.

The best thing to do to help us get you into the right class is to send us a video of your skill level so that we can then give you the right class opportunity.

  • Our circus space is in North Muirton, Perth, Scotland. We get lots of people thinking we are in Australia!

Adventure Circus, Unit 7, Kilda Place, Perth, PH1 3RL

We also run acrobalance and prop club (juggle/poi etc) at Riverside Church, bute Drive, Perth, PH1 3BG

In the winter months, we run our flexibility class at Riverside Church and our yoga class at North Muirton Community Centre, Argyll Road, Perth, PH1 3BZ

  • For all of our aerial classes, we recommend full length leggings / joggers and a top that tucks in/you’ll be comfortable going upside down in. You will want to have your skin covered.

A jumper to layer up with if you get cold and socks. We find onesies work well in the winter time.

Please don’t wear jewellery or chew gum.

Bring water and a snack if doing multiple classes in a row. But please no nuts due to an instructor’s severe allergy.

  • We have a ‘make up’ or catch up class policy for our adult classes. Please read about this carefully in our terms and conditions.

  • We believe that circus is for every body and will do our best to help you take part!

Many of our coaches have training and experience working with students with physical, sensory and learning disabilities, and we’re working to upskill all of our coaches on inclusive teaching practices.

Our class description page should help you choose what to learn, and if you have any worries please call or Whatsapp Gemma on 07709815564 to chat.

Our Kilda Place building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, but is a converted industrial warehouse and our larger rest room is not suitable for large wheelchairs to access. Our training space at Riverside Church (juggle/poi club) is fully accessible.

We have on-site parking and can allocate space close to our entrance.

The activity and noise levels in the main studio are oftentimes high, but we do have some quiet spaces that students can access in the lounge and restrooms if needed.

For more information on the accessibility of the building and classes, or to provide us with feedback on how you would like to see Adventure Circus become a more inclusive space, please email admin@adventurecircus.org or contact Gemma at the details above.
